I check my Email at work and I am very careful about what sites I visit. I am not online very much except to download tools I need for digital video editing. Somehow they hacked into our server and targeted me saying that I downloaded an application that would mark me a pedophile. They said gross stuff like I masturbate to teenagers (thats vile). They said that they have access to the cameras on my device (my workstation doesnt have any cameras) and showed the supposed files to the teenagers I had imaginary sex with. Then they threatened to send this to my boss, my family, my friends and my co-workers unless I paid them 5,000 in Bitcoin. I dont do disgusting stuff at work and even if I did, I am always monitored by what sites I visited (none of them teenage porn, mind you) and there are cameras all over this place. This is ransomware and sextortion...I am not rich and I dont deal with cryptocurrency.

(internet security specialist) with affiliation with the Anonymous group.Few months ago you downloaded an application.That application had a special code implanted purposely.Since the moment you installed it, your device started to act like a Remote Desktop I was able to access anytime.The program allowed me to access your desktop, your camera(s), your files, passwords and contact lists. I also know where you live and where you work..I was observing you for quite some time and what I have collected here is overwhelming. I know about your sexual preferences and your interest in young bodies.

This scammer sends out emails fishing for people who are either paranoid or into illicit things. He threatens to send videos to friends and family, and pretends to have access to your computer. He says he will stay silent for a certain amount of bitcoin.
