Sextortion Scam

1

He sent me an email with the following comment: "With one mouse click, I can send this video to all your emails and contacts on your social networks. I can also make public all your e-mail correspondence and chat history on the messengers that you use. If you don't want this to happen, transfer $1690 in Bitcoin equivalent to my Bitcoin address (if you do not know how to do this, just search "buy bitcoin" on Google)." He spoofed my email, but the headers of the message reveal his IP address. I already reported his IP address to his provider Turksat and to Turkish cybercrime police with the full email header.

Sextortion Scam

1

Numerous employees within our company have been targeted by an ongoing sextortion email scam. The scam emails have varied slightly in content but consistently involve claims that the sender has taken control of the recipient's personal devices and gathered incriminating material, usually related to explicit adult content. The sender threatens to expose this material unless a payment, typically around $1490 USD in Bitcoin, is made to a specified Bitcoin wallet. The Bitcoin wallet address provided changes periodically. Despite these threats, we have seen no evidence to support the claims made in these emails. None of the devices used by our employees have shown signs of being compromised, and no actual incriminating material has ever been produced by the sender. However, the frequency and persistence of these scam emails have been cause for concern among our employees and have raised questions about the overall security of our systems. We have not responded to or engaged with these scam emails, and no payments have been made.

Sextortion Scam

says that he got access to my PC through a porn website I visited and has been watching me for months and contacted me through my personal email and claims to have recorded me pleasuring myself and edited it next to a video I was supposedly watching which he will send to my social contacts if I don't give him the money he demanded within 50 hours I have not given any money to the hacker. I do not have a camera or webcam for my PC so how he has recorded me is a bit suspicious.

Sextortion Scam

Hi, !. I am a hacker, and I have successfully gained access to your operating system. I also have full access to your account. I've been watching you for a few months now. The fact is that your computer has been infected with malware through an adult site that you visited. If you are not familiar with this, I will explain. Trojan Virus gives me full access and control over a computer or other device. This means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on the camera and microphone, but you do not know about it. I also have access to all your contacts and all your correspondence. Why did your antivirus not detect malware? Answer: The malware I used is driver-based, I update its signatures every 4 hours. Hence your antivirus is unable to detect its presence. I made a video showing how you satisfy yourself in the left half of the screen, and the right half shows the video you were watching at the time. With one mouse click, I can send this video to all your emails and contacts on your social networks. I can also make public all your e-mail correspondence and chat history on the messengers that you use. If you don't want this to happen, transfer $1690 in Bitcoin equivalent to my Bitcoin address (if you do not know how to do this, just search "buy bitcoin" on Google). My Bitcoin address (BTC Wallet) is: 13fRV6chMyEKVjmRG4S47r8XCJG2e6t914 After confirming your payment, I will delete the video immediately, and that's it. You will never hear from me again. I will give you 50 hours (more than 2 days) to pay. I will get a notice, when you open this email, and the timer will start. Filing a complaint somewhere does not make sense because this email cannot be tracked like my Bitcoin address. I never make any mistakes. If I find that you have shared this message with someone else, the video will be immediately distributed. Best regards!

Not sure how much to describe, other than the attached, which is all I received. Shutting down the account isn't enough. These people should be imprisoned.

Sent a sextortion email claiming to have hacked my device. Interestingly included my name, but my email is a concatenation of a shortening of my first name and surname so I guess that's not too difficult to figure out.
