Received an e-mail stating that they have a video of me pleasuring myself and that I need to give them USD 2000 in Bitcoin within 24 hours of receiving the message. Said that they have been monitoring our computer activity for the last 163 days and that their spyware was activated when I visited a pornographic website. They stated that they have an eye-catching video logged from my webcam that they activated. The subject of the message was an old password that we only use for one computer - my 10 year old daughters computer, used for homework and to play Roblox. It has no webcam to activate and is in the middle of a room that has high foot traffic. They also said that if I replied with the word proof, that they would send the video to 8 of my contacts at random. They provided the Bitcoin address with an asterisk in the middle, and said to remove the asterisk when donating to them, and theyd go away forever.
